Sanyo SK-VF7S Stainless-Steel Digital Convection Oven kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo SK-VF7S Stainless-Steel Digital Convection Oven
After trying two different other stainless steel toaster ovens (Delonghi, B&D) finally found the perfect one. This does exactly what you want it to do first and foremost....toast. It toasts evenly & quickly. The size is pretty compact as well and looks sharp. A keeper.

Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square-Inch Electric Indoor Barbeque Grill, Black kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square-Inch Electric Indoor Barbeque Grill, Black
I have had this grill for about a month now and we use it at least three to four times a week. We have grilled chicken, fish, steaks, burgers, veggies and even peaches and at no time have we ever had a problem with smoke or anything sticking to the grill itself. As long as you always put the water in the pan and remember to spray a small amount of cooking spray on the surface you should have no problem. Also be sure to clean the top and bottom of the grill after using. I suspect some of the people that have reviewed this product and have had a problem with smoke are not cleaning it properly and old grease is more than likely causing the smoke. I would highly recommend this grill to anyone. Especially those looking to eat healthier.

Sanyo HPS-SG2 Indoor Barbeque Grill with 120-Square-Inch Nonstick Cooking Surface kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo HPS-SG2 Indoor Barbeque Grill with 120-Square-Inch Nonstick Cooking Surface
I use this grill very often. It heats up quickly. This grill cooks the food cleanly, cooking away all fat, so there is little mess and clean-up. I only cook for myself, but it is definitely large enough to cook for two or three. The only reason I have given it 4 stars, rather than 5, is because, if you like your food well-done, as I do, you will definitely have smoke. It needs to be placed near an open window for ventilation. I love this grill and I am glad I purchased it!

I love this rice cooker for the way it looks and for the way it's User Interface is designed too! I used to hate my older rice cookers because it used to splash a lot of water while cooking and I cleaning all that starch water on the countertop was always irritating. This cooker doesn't splash even a drop!

I also liked the way it has this retractable chord in it making the countertop look less messier

Sanyo Space Saving Toasty Oven kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo Space Saving Toasty Oven
We don't have a lot of counter space and we used our old toaster oven mainly for toast. So when replacing it I considered getting a regular toaster. Still, it's nice to be able to reheat pizza or fix fish sticks in a handy little toaster oven. Then I saw this one -- it has a small footprint! It gets great reviews! Can 42 people be wrong? So I got it, and I was keen to like it too. But here's the low-down -- my list of pros and cons, when compared to a regular toaster oven or toaster.

Pros:
-- It has a smaller footprint than a regular toaster oven.

Cons as a toaster:
-- It takes 5 full minutes to toast bread.
-- No cancel button. The only way to stop the oven when the timer dial is still running is to unplug it, and annoyingly, the timer will keep ticking. (Opening the door doesn't stop it.)
-- You cannot figure out a toast darkness setting once and for all -- your preferred setting for your usual type of bread -- and then just start it. The timer dial does show darkness settings, but they're not too precise. So I end up having to watch the bread. (But yes, the toast comes out perfectly fine. I did give it 3 stars.)

Cons as a toaster oven:
-- You cannot set the temperature.
-- The timer dial maxes out at 15 minutes and turning that dial is the only way to switch the oven on. So even for fish sticks that need 20 minutes, you have to go back and re-set it for 5 extra minutes. (As for baking a small loaf of banana bread...forget about it. Anyway, the loaf pan wouldn't fit. See next point.)
-- The shelves are too small to fit a large slice of pizza, you have to fiddle with the slice to fit it in.

So it's not really an oven at all, just a toaster into which you can put things horizontally. That's a useful feature, of course: you can make nice open faced sandwiches with melted cheese. But if you want to do more than that, this oven will annoy you. Stick to a regular toaster oven, and if counter space is an issue, just get one of the small ones.

Sanyo ECJ-D100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker/Steamer, White with Stainless Accent kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo ECJ-D100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker/Steamer, White with Stainless Accent
My family is korean so the idea of using a rice cooker is not new to me. My mom got me this rice cooker and I love it! I love the pot inside, it is nice and durable - I've had mine for 4 years, through college, and it's still like new with no scratches or burns. I love the handle and retractable cord cause it becomes very portable and I can just take it to a picnic or for a potluck dinner without disturbing the contents. I also like the programming functions, and it makes it pretty fool-proof with the automatic shut-off and warming. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is I feel like I can't get the lid as clean as I would like to, Usually you can just wipe it with a sponge but I really want to take the lid apart to clean under it too. The best thing to cook in this cooker is rice & beans - it comes out flawless!

Sanyo ECJ-F50S Micro-Computerized 5-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo ECJ-F50S Micro-Computerized 5-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer
This rice cooker is superb. It cooks from 1-5 cups of rice perfectly every time. Yes, it takes longer than your standard rice cooker but that seems to be due to the micro-processor. It adjusts cooking temperatures to make sure the cooker doesn't get too hot and glue the rice to the bottom of the cooker. I also like the way the cooker vents only steam and doesn't spit rice paste all over the counter like my old cooker.

The cooker is simple to use and has settings for all types of rice (including rice porridge) plus an auto-on timer. The cooker also has a keep warm feature but normally you don't need it. The extra heavy duty rice bowl keeps the rice hot for a considerable amount of time.

Clean-up is easy, the internal vented lid and top vent pop out and wipe clean. The first time was a little slow becuase the instructions aren't very specific about how to take apart and clean the cooker. Once past the first time though it is very quick.

Overall, I'm could not be happier with the product.

Sanyo ECJ-HC55S 5-1/2-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker and Slow Cooker, White kitchen appliance reviews

kitchen appliance reviews Sanyo ECJ-HC55S 5-1/2-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker and Slow Cooker, White
This cooker replaced the National fuzzy logic that I had used at least 3-4 times a week for 5 years. With all the new rice cookers on the market it was hard to find one that had the features that I wanted, without a bunch that I didn't need. I really don't need to bake a cake in my rice cooker!! What I use the most are the slow cooker options and the rice options. I mostly make short grain brown rice and this model cooks it much faster than my old National. I also loved that this cooker came with an extra pan and lid for the slow cooker...which makes it a great value.

If it is important for you to know the length of the cook cycles, I suggest that you time them the first time you use them because the instruction booklet does not give the times for the cycles. My old National would show the length of the cycle when you started each cycle, i.e. when using the regular cycle it would show 43 minutes on the clock. This cooker only shows the time left when it gets down around 15 minutes. The brown rice cycle cooks in 75 minutes. I cooked quinoa on the quick cycle the other day and it was done in approximately 30 minutes.

Another option I like on this model compared to the National is that, so far, the lid is easier to clean. The national used to bubble up through the steam vent and make a mess that was not easy to clean from the rubber gasket, but the Sanyo doesn't do that and the lid barely needs to be washed after cooking a batch of rice. I wish these types of cookers would make removable upper lids so that they could be kept cleaner.

I also love that this model has the slow cooker and that there is both high and low slow cook cycles.

This cooker is just right for a small family or couple, but if you generally cook for more than 3 people, I would recommend the larger model. I can make enough soup for 4 people if bread and salad were served, but it may only serve several people if they had large appetites. It definitely does not have enough room in the slow cooker to do large roasts.

Great value, great cooker, I highly recommend it.
