Let's face it for the low price this toastmaster grinder is sold at it does the job and then some. The coffee I grind is ground down quickly and efficiently and with less noise than I expected from coffee beans being ground to a pulp. The only con (as with most coffee grinders) is that if coffee finds its way between the body and the lid it will eventually end up on your counter.

I am using mine as I sit here now...the perfect appliance. It stays hot, does not scorch, smoke or warm what is underneath.
I have it on my drawing table, where I am to be found sitting for a great portion of my day ~ either working on a drawing or on my laptop. And I am a great coffee drinker, so this thing is on nearly 24/7.
It keeps my coffee hot, not warm. It does heat the bottom of my mug as well, of course, so I am careful not to hold it there, but the coffee will stay hot as if it was just freshly poured for as long as I need it to stay that way.
My daughter gave one to my husband for Father's Day and I was given mine for my birthday a few months later...and it is one of my favorite things in the world! :) So I ordered two more to give as gifts to others who would love a hot cup of java anytime of the day, or night.
It will serve them well, I am sure...

This is the best breadmaker I've ever owned. I have not had any of the problems that other people have encountered. It makes bread exactly as stated in the manual. It's easy to clean and has many wonderful recipes in the manual.

I knew I wouldn't use this much so I chose to buy a cheaper model. The very first time I used it the unit overheated and the motor just quit. I tried turning it off for awhile to see if letting it cool down would remedy the problem. An hour later it wouldn't even turn on. I pitched it in the trash! I wish I hadn't wasted my money!!! Total disappointment!!

This product has produced consistant heat for me for 3 years. I use it in my smoker about 3-4 times a year on high for 12-15 hours each time. Most of the reviews I read were dissatisfied after trying to make this unit perform as a stove, not an auxillary warming surface. I have found it to be extremely durable and well constructed, as we leave it in the smoker year round (snow, rain, etc. - in Nebraska). I would buy another if this one should die. If you want to replace or supplement your stove, buy something with a little more wattage.

In the last three months we've had 3 units (Toastmaster 6431 Eclipse Single Burner). In all cases the units were never abused, never dropped. They were used twice a day for short periods. Our electrical outlets are wired properly and the unit was never wet. Its polarized plug was plugged in correctly.

The first unit died after about 2 weeks, i.e. no heat. With the second unit after a month or so I felt charge on our metal tea kettle, if I touched any metallic part. My voltmeter showed the full AC wall voltage, 110 VAC, across the chassis to ground when the temperature control was in most, but not all, positions.

The third unit, brand new, out of the box, has 35 VAC from chassis to ground. I can feel a slight tingle. I expect the unit to get worse if used. I bet the problem is a bad batch of rheostats or whatever the temperature controller is. And I bet that any appropriate insulation degrades with use from the heat.

The unit does not have the common third wire, to ground, which is so common with any AC device in a metal chassis, to prevent shock by throwing the circuit breaker if there is an internal short. It does have a polarized plug. It is NOT UL approved.

In my experience, THIS IS A DANGEROUS UNIT. Our local hardware store has removed its remaining units from their shelves. I'm going to eat the cost and disassemble the unit to try and determine what the problem really is. And I'm going to write the company that something bad is going on here, maybe a bad batch of parts ??

I've had Toastmaster stuff before and have been satisfied. In fact, we just bought another, different, UL approved unit, from the same company, for the same price, the Buffet Range TTS1. We hope this unit works and has been properly manufactured to be safe.

I received my shipment in record speed timing! Brand new, still in the wrapper. Works beautifully! Although I must confess, I'm using it to cut foam wedges (up to 8 " thick) for upholstery cushions. It works perfectly, doesn't get hot after long non-stop cutting. Excellent clean cuts.
... Not exactly what it's made for... but then again, I'm a vegetarian.
