I first read about Westinghouse's new "performance lighting" products in Family Handyman. The styling evoked cool garage lights of yore, and they appeared to be robust-looking units, well-suited to the harsh garage enviroment (they are UL rated for damp areas). After some consideration, I chose the Twin Turbo model. I was somewhat concerned a pair of these would be 'too large' for my humble two-car garage, but I needn't worry. Unlike the photo, they are almost comically tiny, barely the size of a shoe box. I had to chuckle as I pulled the toylike lamp from the box. I had been duped. They look like someone took a real garage light and scaled it down to half size. The metal bulb cage is about the same guage as your standard drop light, and the unit itself is of lightweight tin. If you're replacing 4 ft flourescents as I did, you may find the base mounting screws are not long enough if the junction box is recessed behind the drywall, as mine were. But once installed, I can say the light output from the two halogen bulbs did produce a nice, white light, without the flicker of flourescents. I'm only disappointed that I spent $60 for a light that had I seen in person, would not have valued at half that amount.
